WTF? What's The Fashion? Colored Jeans

Of course every lady has a pair of denim jeans in their closet but the colored jean is "de rigueur" of the year! Colored denim is such a fun trend with so many options for everyone to enjoy whether or not they are feeling bold and bright. For those not completely convinced that a pair of colored jeans are practically essential for the season, test the waters by investing in a light blue skinny. This colored jean is easily to blend with most of the items in your closet. But for the risk takers, green, cobalt or crimson denim add the perfect pop of color to any outfit. Keep your top and accessories subtle to keep the focus on the jeans where it should be without looking like you stepped out of a crayon box. If you decide to wear a printed top other than a solid one in black or white hues, wear one with small prints that will allow you to pull one of the colors to match your colored skinnies. Transition this multi-shaded summer skinny into fall by going from light colors such as pink, blues and yellows to more darker deeper shades like forest, maroon or navy.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Tie-Neck Tops

Fall may be on the horizon, but floral prints are still in bloom and you gotta love it when your accessories are built right into your wardrobe. Utilize your blouse's neck-tie as a feminine sash, making this top a staple in your closet. This type of blouse is a fancy twist on the classic button-up and offers a fresh alternative to the scarves of early-fall into late winter. Along with floral prints, search for styles in solid colors, tiny polka-dots and other small prints as well. No need for large loud prints when the tie-neck is all the embellishment you would need. While fresh and hot right now, I am sure you can reminesce on this look being worn by your beloved grandmother. However, you can definitely find some fabulous vintage or thrifty tie-neck blouses, but avoid looking matronly by choosing blouses in high quality fabrics and body-skimming, tucked-in styles. The key here is to wear it in a way that shows off your curves. You can go classic or blushing but the best way to work this trend is to pair a tie-neck blouse with a trendy high-waisted, wide-legged jean or trouser and with a pair of peep-toe platform pumps.
Here are some ways you can transform your tie-neck top into other très chic looks:
~For a menswear-inspired look, wear a cotton tie-neck top with a skinny jean paired with another one of the season's must-have items: the long boyfriend blazer.
~Go for sheer by tucking a transparent tie-neck top into a high-rise, wide-leg jean or pant and finish it off with a slim-fitting cropped blazer.
~Become a stylish naughty secretary by wearing a silk charmeuse tie-neck top tucked into a silhouette-enhancing pencil skirt atop a pair of glossy patent leather shoes.
~Put on a jumper dress over your favoirte tie-neck top with patterned stockings and high-heeled leather boots for a grade-school inspired ensemble that's all grown up.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Fringe-Hems

Fringe hems: a detail in many clothing apparel, have inspired designers for decades into creating swooned-over styles that we admire today. Fringe fashions come in two popular forms. There's the wild and free flapper fringe and the swing and sway bohemian fringe, both if not worn correctly can be a fringy fashion faus pas. Designed for modern times, the flapper fringe gives a mysterious, hide-the reveal appeal with more of a hard-edge while bohemian style fringes are longer and thicker and are more cool and casual. When wearing fringes, it's about minimalism. To wear it successfully in different ways, the silhouette and shape should be print-less and neutral in color. Flapper fringes work best on dresses and skirts while bohemian styles work better especially in bare-cut tops. Avoid wearing fringes on the bottom to keep from looking like a hippie or a vaudeville performer.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Rock-Band Tees

If you didn't know, what's truly rockin' during the summer are the music festivals which gives you the perfect time to go up in your attic and bust out that vintage band t-shirt. Throw on with your humongous old-school earphones that are the size of earmuffs, a classic, loose, over-sized grungy tee of your favorite rock band of the 70s and 80s! Yes, my fashionistas, the rock band tees are making a comeback. Keep it cazh with cut-off shorts which are apparently the must-have bottom to complete your rocker look. Less means more when it comes to layering. Go for edgy not grundy (Fergie). Enjoy a few hardware pieces in your accessories and for walking around everywhere, keep it comfy with some converses or vans but please, not heels! If you are trying to pass yourself off as a groupie, then by all means a pair of heels and some heavy makeup can definitely turn this look from rockstar to pornstar.
